Does this sound like gestational diabetes?

I am due on Nov. 16 2010 and I have noticed some weird changes. First of all I have an extreme thirst that cannot be quenched. I typically hate drinking water but I find myself gulping down lots of water and never being satisfied. I also am going to the bathroom a lot. I though that I was urinating a lot bc I was getting little bigger and it was causing pressure on my bladder but have noticed as soon as I drink something I have to rush to the bathroom to pee.

The last thing I have noticed is that I have an overproduction of saliva. I hate to be gross but it is very thick and foamy and I find myself having to spit a great deal now. I don’t know why it would be foamy as I keep myself hydrated bc of this extreme thirst I have. Does any of this sound like gestational diabetes. I dont think I am dehydrated as I have not been vomiting a great deal. In fact the doctor has me on 4mg of Zofran bc in the 1st trimester I had bad vomiting spells. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

By the way I am 22 years old and 136lbs.

These are all symptoms of pregnancy anyway. You would have more saliva and pee a lot more if you have been drinking more.

For starters being pregnant requires lots of water, you need to be drinking at least 1/2 gallon of water a day. and depending on how your carrying your little one (high or Low) it could just be the pressure from the baby on your bladder causing you to have to go a lot. The increased saliva is part of pregnancy. your doctor won’t be checking for GD until your 26-28 weeks pregnant however if your overly concerned and your doctor has not done any blood work yet I would talk to them and see if they could rule out the possibility.
